Vision
Our vision is to be one of the world’s leading engineering faculties in both education and research, and to achieve international recognition in the field of engineering.

Mission
Our mission is to provide excellent instruction and design experiences essential for graduates to enter the practice of engineering and pursue lifelong professional development; to provide research opportunities for students that generate, communicate, and apply new knowledge for the betterment of society; to foster a spirit of service and leadership among students and faculty and assist the public in addressing issues concerning using our resources, protecting our environment, and developing our infrastructure. Objectives
Faculty objectives are broadly stated goals pertaining to career and professional accomplishments desired of students years after graduation. The following objectives have been identified as the faculty’s goals for successful student achievement that will satisfy constituents’ needs and fulfill the faculty’s mission.

  1. Technical knowledge – Graduates possess the fundamentals in engineering necessary to succeed in graduate school and/or be productive engineers in industry or government.
  2. Communication skills – graduates can articulate their ideas clearly and effectively to follow engineers, employers, the engineering community and the general public.
  3. Creativity – graduates can challenge traditional thinking and invent new approaches to solving technological problems.
  4. Professionalism – graduates possess the skills needed to fulfill their professional duties and responsibilities in teamwork/collegiality, ethics, technical leadership, business acumen and lifelong learning.


Collaborations.
The Faculty of Engineering understands that it cannot develop without learning and sharing resources with other institutions. Currently, the faculty has external links with the College of Engineering and Technology (CoET) of the University of Dar Es Salaam. A memorandum of understanding between the two provides that the faculty can now collaborate in research and information, student and staff exchange, consultancy, curricula harmonization and joint projects with College of engineering and technology.
