Over 2,000 students both nationals and internationals; are scheduled to graduate at Ndejje University with Certificates, degrees, diploma and masters in various fields .
First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports Janet KataahaMuseveni is expected to be the chief gust at the 19th graduation ceremony slated for October 13, 2017 at Luwero-based Main campus.
The graduation is organised under the theme; “Sustained Capacity Building And Innovation As We Celebrate 25 Years Of God’s Grace”.
Chancellor Dr. Kisamba Mugerwa will however preside over the awarding of degrees and diplomas to the graduates. It will be his third time to officiate in that capacity upon assuming the honorary office.
The institution’s graduation number has continued to rise since 2012. A total of 1,422 students were churned out in that year followed by 1,940 in 2013, 2,442 in 2014, 2,482 in 2015.
This year has seen an increase in the number of graduates with Faculty of Business Administration and Management taking a lion’s share followed by Social Sciences, Engineering and Survey.
The university churned out a total of 2800 graduandsat the 18th graduation who received diplomas, undergraduate and post graduate degrees marking the biggest number ever in the history of the university. 1459 (53.1%) of the graduates were female while 1,341 (47%) were male which percentages clearly show positive results in the gender streaming efforts.
Ndejje University has made tremendous achievements in passing out quality graduates in the fields of research, innovation as it celebrates 25 years of academic and sports excellence.
The good and attractive academic programs and research undertakings among other factors has earned Ndejje University the 2nd best ranked university in Uganda and 42nd in Africa according to the 4th International Colleges and Universities Ranking.
In another development the university is scheduled to hold the 3rd graduation ceremony for the Affiliate Institutions/ACBA on September 29, 2017 at Kampala Campus as part of the 2017 graduation activities. Dr. Jane Egau, Commissioner Teacher Education in the Ministry of Education and Sports will commission the graduands.
The 4thCommencement Lecture for all the 2017 graduands has also been organised by the office of the Academic Registrar on October 6, 2017 atHockey ground,Lugogo, Kampala to hype the 19thgraduation ceremony.
Mr. Sam Wabasa, the proprietor of Canaan Sites and Hardware Ltd will be the key speaker on the theme: “Employability, Skills For Success In The Job Market.”
The lecture is geared to equipping the graduands with skills and on the other front, etiquettes required for the graduation ceremony.
