The games are a milestone in the lives of our students and go a long way in enhancing sports competition standards and socialization in our institutions

Eastern Africa University Games 2022

The event, commonly known as the EAUG, is a multi-sport university sport event organized in December of every even year (on a 2 years cycle). Athletes from degree awarding institutions, pursuing at least a full time recognised one year academic course, shall be competing in 20 sports disciplines including; Athletics- Track and Field; Badminton; Basketball; Chess; Handball; Hockey; Karate; Netball; Rugby; Scrabble; Soccer; Swimming; Table Tennis; Tae Kwon Do; Tennis; Volleyball; Wood ball; Sport for PWD.

This is a bi-annual University Sports festival that brings together the elites in the region to share and celebrate the tremendous values from sports

These games were meant to be hosted in 2020 but were postponed to December 2022

Games' Objectives

1. To sensitize communities about the role of sports as a major tool in community partnerships and development.

2. To advocate for unity, respect, friendship, fairness, integrity and brotherhood to enhance collaboration with the Universities and the Eastern Africa communities.

3. To support progress through laid out structures and patterns by setting targets and smooth transition in sports administration and management.

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) composed of various federations, institutions, and other relevant bodies to ensure the smooth running of the games. Ndejje University is therefore committed to planning; organizing and hosting a successful championship on behalf of EAUSF come December 2020.

Eng.Detlef Jobke Recommends Changes

Eng. Detlef Jobke a consultant requested by the Ministry of Education and Sports to give technical support in putting in place the sports facilities required for the 12th Eastern African University games He came to Ndejje for 3 days to examine the practicability of the master plan that was approved at the mid of last year 2021. .

Yeko claim gold in world varsity cross-country

Yeko was a front runner most of the time, exchanging the lead with German Markus Georger and tactically staying behind teammate Wangwe before exploding in the final lap. Budding long distance runner Dismas Yeko executed the perfect final kicks to claim gold at the World University Cross-Country event in Portugal on Saturday.
